Dick is a 9 week old male English Cocker Spaniel cross Poodle. Tom, Dick and Harry have come into rescue as they were born with cataracts. They are as you would expect any 9 week old puppy to be, full of mischief and into just about everything. We appreciate that many people will look and apply. These boys will only go to homes able to fully commit to taking the pups for their surgery in 12 weeks time and then post operatively ensuring that they attend their check ups and follow all of the requirements to ensure their eyes heal fully. The cost of their surgery will be covered by us.

One of the requirements is that they have drops placed in their eyes 6 times a day if this is not followed the op will fail and potentially they could loose their sight. They will also need to wear a cone to ensure they cannot scratch their eyes and that their eyes are protected until the specialist sign them off. Their surgery will be carried out at Optivet in Havant PO9. There will be several appointments after surgery so it is a requirement of the adoption that you can attend these appointments.

Please read fully the explanation of the surgery and what it will mean for both dog and owner – http://www.optivet.com/information/cataract-surgery-owners-guide. It is imperative that any potential applicants fully understand the requirements of adopting Tom, Dick or Harry.

Tom, Dick and Harry will need new owners who are around for most of the day due to their needs. A home with older sensible teenagers would be fine and the boys would be fine with or without other resident dogs. They do not require any medication at this point and can be treated as any normal pup. They will need to attend training classes to ensure they grow into well behaved young boys and it will be beneficial if they are used to being handled and having their eyes looked at. We will explain to all potential owners what this will entail.

Like all of our pups they will need to be neutered at the correct time as part of their Adoption Agreement (reduced cost neutering is available at our vets). They have had first vaccinations, been micro chipped and are up to date with flea and worming treatment. Tom, Dick and Harry are currently on foster in Guildford Surrey.
